Story
Hove Salvation Army have been helping those in need in our neighbourhood for over 140 years. In the early days we delivered bags of coal but today we seek to help those struggling in our community through our Food Bank, Open Houses, Lunch Club, and Christmas toys. We also seek to respond to specific needs that are expressed.
As well as monetary donations we are also happy to receive donations of non-perishable foods for our Food Bank and new toys for our Christmas Appeal.
More and more people are feeling a reduction in their income and some families whose children normally receive free school meals are finding an extra squeeze on their purse.
The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity working in 132 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world. In the UK and Republic of Ireland this work includes more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and community churches. We provide unconditional friendship, support and very practical help to people in crisis and need and work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction.
