Update 5/2/10
The fund for the whole trip has now passed £12,000.00 thanks to some very hard work by all concerned and some wonderful donations. Please keep giving if you come here to donate as every penny does count.
Thank you all . Photos of the trek will be posted here and on the school website ( www.wellingboroughschool.org) and on the Alzheimer's society site . See below for full trip description.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I am Housemaster of Cripps' House and this is the start of something big. Cripps' House is one of five boy's Houses at Wellingborough School and we have the honour of being the first youth group to take part in a trek organised through the Alzheimer's society. We are trailblazers that others will follow.
I am leading this 50km trek through the Sahara to raise money and awareness of Alzheimer's Disease. There are ten boys in the group all between the ages of 14 and 17 years old. They all have targets of £1200 and hope through our fundraising to be able to gift at least £12,000 to the Alzheimers Society. Any money raised through this page will be funnelled into the boy's accounts in order tohelp them acheive the target.
Alzheimer's disease will affect us all in some way or another in the coming years if not already and the only way to fight it is through both research and the committment to caring for the sufferers and the carers of those that suffer this appalling disease. A disease that not only robs us of our loved ones but also their memories of that love.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me.
So please sponsor me now and help make a difference!
