Story
Horsham Ladies Rugby Team LOVE to know what’s for dinner, in fact our players will often ask their opposition this question when in a scrum! Our training has been cancelled during Lockdown #2, so we have decided to use this time to help those who don’t know where their next meal is coming from. We are raising money for the Horsham Food Bank c/o Horsham Matters.
We have pledged as a team to cover the official distance from Land's End to John O Groats, 874 miles, during the 4 weeks of lockdown. We will be walking, running, cycling, horse riding, swimming, and logging our progress along the way.
Please support this fabulous charity and sponsor us.
Just lately, Horsham District Foodbank has had many conversations with those who have just been made redundant, were not entitled to redundancy pay and are struggling to make ends meet. These are difficult times and as UK employment continues to fall by the biggest amount in over a decade, there is worse to come, and for some time to come. The average cost of a emergency food parcel of 3 day's food is £15 for one person for long-life food only. Supplemented by donated fresh food, this makes such a difference for someone with no money to buy groceries. Demand has risen by 100% and every penny donated will support someone who needs it, in our local community.
