“The Great British Horse Survey is a fabulous idea, because it will make things happen, a mass of people will pool their knowledge. Knowledge is the one thing that counteracts ignorance, and I believe that ignorance is responsible for about half of the cruelty and neglect that we see. Many people just don’t appreciate the commitment of looking after a horse, and what is so sad is that they also don’t realise how rewarding their horse can be if it is cared for properly.”
