Story
We are three sisters, Hannah, Charlotte and Emma who are running the London Marathon as a team. We are running for Scott, Emma’s husband, who died of Hodgkin’s lymphoma in August this year.
Scotty was just 30 years old when he died and so full of life. Loosing him has left a huge hole in our family. He wasn’t just a husband to Emma, he was a brother to Hannah and Charlie, an amazing uncle and best friend and we miss him every day.
Running the marathon was something we spoke about with Scott with him wanting us to do it in under 5 hours. So here’s hoping we smash that target!
We want to raise money, not only in Scott’s memory, but for all the other families living through the pain and injustice of a blood cancer diagnosis. Anthony Nolan is a wonderful charity which matches incredible individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people with blood cancer and blood disorders who desperately need lifesaving transplants giving them hope for the future.
We have set ourselves a big goal for fundraising and training to give us something amazing and positive to focus on in what we know is going to be the hardest year. We’ve seen each other through the darkest of times; if we can get through that then, together, we can get through a marathon.
