Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My daughter Lais is 5 years of age and was diagnosed with a gene mutation which in turn led to a diagnosis of Autism during her very early years.

Lais was a lovely, happy baby whom enjoyed bath time with her older sister and generally filled our home with happiness and laughter. Unfortunately when Lais reached 7 months old we became increasingly aware that something was wrong; she would avoid eye contact and began to lose interest in playing with her sister.

Unfortunately Lais’ has become increasingly frustrated over the years due to her lack of verbal communication and will often cry, injure herself and refuse to sleep which is both incredibly worrying and upsetting as her mother.

I am currently fundraising so that we can have enough money to pay for ABA therapy which is very expensive in Uk and to pay for her medicine and supplements that come from USA . This particular treatments has helped to improve autistic traits such as poor communication skills in other children and as a family we really believe that it could hugely benefit Lais’ life.

Older sister Ashley is a big part of Lais’ life and wanted to share her feelings on her little sister:

“I would love for my little sister to play with me but she finds it difficult to express herself and join in with games. I don’t like it when Lais is sad and I would love for her to have the opportunity to live a happier more fulfilled life’

Thank you for taking the time to read Lais’ story it really means a lot to us.
