The Northampton Hope Centre are continuing to support the needs of those who are living in poverty and on the streets of Northampton during this crisis. More people are in need every day and we need your help to support them.

Story

Members, family and friends of Rotary Northampton Becket will be
walking every day during May and June 2020 with the aim of the combined miles circumnavigating the globe.

The ongoing situation with Covid-19 presents significant challenges for those living in poverty across Northampton. The Northampton Hope Centre is doing everything within its power to continue supporting the most vulnerable in our community. Hope is providing 3 meals a day and also providing support in the form of clothing, supplying activities and also a mental health support help-line. The Hope Food Club is now operating on a delivery only basis and has doubled its capacity and is now delivering 3 days each week. The number of families’ dependant on this support is growing daily, help is urgently required.

Individuals taking part have either pledged donations or are actively seeking sponsors. The walkers are seeking pledges of 10p, 20p, 50p or £1 per mile walked during the month of May. 10,000 steps per day equates to 5 miles, so for an active walker 150 miles in the month is a realistic target. To walk round the world is approximately 24,000 miles, so we need in excess of 150 people to take part! Sign up now and we can log our progress. Alternatively one-off donations in support of the walkers would also be gratefully received.
