Story
Alba is one of my Littlies here at Home from Home Childminding. We shall be endeavouring to raise £200 - the equivalent it costs in petrol for 30 mins. It costs £10 in fuel for every minute & half!
Four month old Alba was admitted to hospital in Margate with severe breathing difficulties after developing bronchiolitis, a lower respiratory tract infection that affects babies and young children.
When her condition failed to improve after being put on oxygen it was decided to transfer her to the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London for more specialist treatment.
Having been born eight weeks premature, Alba was a tiny baby and she was put into a medically induced coma and intubated before being flown to London by the Children’s Air Ambulance.
The flight took just 30 minutes compared with a road journey of nearly two hours with no traffic problems.
Children’s Air Ambulance is an inter-hospital transfer service flying critically ill babies and children from one hospital to another for specialist care. With our ability to fly approximately four times faster than a land ambulance, we can minimise travel times and the risk for little patients. We receive no government funding for our daily missions. Your support keeps us flying, thank you.
