We raise awareness of organ donation to encourage people to sign the register

Story

Hi there!

On Friday July 8th 2022, the Unilever Homecare Team have decided to challenge ourselves to walk a half or full marathon to raise money for 2 selected charities: Live Life Give Life and the Liverpool Ocular Oncology Research Group (LOORG).

In 3 years, The Great Walk has connected over 700 walkers from across the UK & Ireland sites and have raised more than £150,000 for Liverpool Ocular Oncology Research Group (LOORG) in memory of our friend and colleague, Renee Metroka.

As a team, we are exceptionally proud of how we have come together to support LOORG in memory of Renee. Our donations from The Great Walk have made up over 50% of LOORG’s annual donations received – meaning the charity can fund more research into the pathogenesis and treatment of adult ocular tumours to improve patient care and survival.

With The Great Walk heading into year four, we’re introducing Live Life Give Life as our second charity partner – we know the power of partnerships and the role they play. All donations will help to raise awareness on the positives of organ donation with the hope to encourage more people to make organ donation their legacy.

In 2022, we are on a mission to go bigger and better than ever before and make it our biggest year yet!

Your sponsorship means so much to us. Thank you!
