Story
Laurie would like to climb to the lofty peaks of Mount Everest, whilst taking in other vertical milestones along the way. We will be climbing the m equivalent using our staircase at home. Tents will be set up at base camp (Laurie's bedroom).
Update:
We have reached the summit of Matterhorn (17912 steps) and are working towards Kilimanjaro. We aim to set up base camp on Saturday, which has caused so much excitement, that I found Laurie "practicing" sleeping there last night. We have made a flag for our camp and will get our sherpa (Daddy) to carry our tent up soon.
Bunny has accompanied us on our climbs in his makeshift sling.
We will aim for the following high sights on our journey:
The Empire State building (381m to viewing platform)
One World Trade Centre (555m, 2220 stairs)
Shanghai Tower (632m, 2528 stairs)
Burj Khalifa (828m, 3312 stairs)
Snowdon (1085m, 4340 stairs)
Grand Canyon (2074m, 8296 stairs)
Mount Fuji (3776m, 15104 stairs)
Matterhorn (4478m, 17912 stairs)
Mount Damavand (5671m, 22684 stairs)
Mount Kilimanjaro (5895m, 23580 stairs)
Aconcagua (6962m, 27848 stairs)
Gangkhar Puensum (7570m, 30280 stairs)
Mount Everest (8448m, 33792 stairs)
Laurie wanted everyone who couldn't afford food to be able to receive what they need, so we chose to raise money for the Trussell Trust.
Trussell Trust
Our vision is for a UK without the need for food banks. We say this because it’s not right that anyone cannot afford their own food. That’s why we are working towards a just, compassionate future, where no one should have to use a food bank to get by.Our vision is ambitious, but we know that if we work together it is possible. We can create a future where nobody goes hungry, because nobody will allow it – when we work Together for Change.#TogetherForChange
