We are very excited to announce that final preparations are now underway for the Raise a Ribbon 2022 event at Holy Trinity Church on Mothering Sunday (27th March). You can nominate your mother, grandmother or any special lady in your life (past or present) for their names to be celebrated on a beautiful display of ribbons flying from the church tower.

You can nominate names for the ribbons via our Facebook page (using the "Message" button), at sign up sheets around the village or by email to enquiries@barrowandwoldsgroup.com.

The closing date for names is 22nd March 2022.

You are also welcome to come into church to write names onto the ribbons yourself on Saturday 12th and 19th March between 10am and 12pm.

Because of the current situation in Ukraine, we will be sending donations for this years event to support the humanitarian crisis developing in mainland Europe. Many of the refugees are women and mothers, leaving husbands, brothers and fathers behind to fight in the war, and as we celebrate our own mothers and special women on Mothering Sunday, we felt it would be very fitting to do so while raising money to support women and mothers in a very real and present crisis today.

The ribbons will be released on Mothering Sunday, 27th March,

at 10:15am while the bells ring. The service begins at 10:30am, we hope you'll join us for both!

The ribbons will then be on display for a week and floodlit during the hours of darkness.
