Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

Saturday morning our world came crashing down, we woke up to the news that one of our dearest friends Holly (@hollysums) was taken suddenly into the Hallamshire the day before and was diagnosed with Adult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).

Holly is a daughter, sister, partner to the wonderful Leigh, new mum to the gorgeous baby Harry and runs a successful business with her sister Chloe. To her friends Holly is the life and soul of the party, the girl that lights up the room and has the most positive effect on everyone she meets. She is a ray of selfless beautiful sunshine.

Holly is currently receiving treatment at Sheffield’s Hallamshire Hospital. Whilst this is extremely frightening for Holly and everyone who knows her, the cancer is curable and both Holly and the staff at the Hallamshire hospital are fighting tirelessly to beat the diagnosis, so that she can continue living her best life.

Inspired by Holly, and the wonderful staff at the Hallamshire, we are taking part in the Sheffield Half Marathon and dedicating our run to the Sheffield Blood Cancer Trust. Holly will be fighting hard for the next six weeks, exactly the amount of time we have to pull out all the stops and raise as much as possible to aid The Sheffield Blood Cancer Trust for the fantastic work they do for so many people, like Holly.

The half marathon takes place on 27th March 2022 and we could say Sam is slightly unprepared, but we know a mix of Pepe’s and protein bars will get him through. Nikki has talked about doing the half marathon for 15 years and usually only ever seen in full makeup and heels on eccy road, she now has the perfect reason to run it (not in heels). Together they will be aiming to complete the half marathon in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

We also welcome any of Holly’s other brilliant friends to join us by running the half marathon or supporting on the sideline.

Holly is a fighter and we know that she can overcome this with her strength and the positivity she is receiving from everyone around her. We wanted the opportunity to ask everyone who can to donate as much as possible towards a fantastic cause, in honour of our friend Holly.

Let’s get Holly back on her feet and drinking prosecco soon,

Love Danielle, Sam & Nikki xx
