Story
I am part of one of four Claranet teams at the UK CGI Challenge this summer, raising money for the Invictus Games.
The Challenge is a 3-day event on the Isle of Man where over 100 teams compete through a number of physical and mental challenges. These include Running, Cycling, Kayaking, Hiking and Swimming. As well as Mensa level puzzles, challenges and camping in between.
I would really appreciate your support to help us raise as much money as possible for Invictus.
Anyone who knows me knows this is WAYYYY out of my comfort zone. I'm not too fond of camping; I wouldn't say I like boats; I have bad knees (and various other health issues), but I'm not going to let any of that stop me. I've been training since February, six days a week, with the help of Fitter Body Ladies and private PT sessions. While I may not be the fittest or fastest, I'm going to try my damn hardest and raise some money for an incredible cause
The CGI UK Challenge truly embodies the Invictus Spirit with teamwork, resilience and adventure all part of the experience. But what is the Invictus Games Foundation? Most of us will never know the horrors of combat or experience the impact of no longer being able to serve. Living with visible and invisible wounds, servicemen and women globally find strength to move on, to not be defined by their injuries. IGF believe they and their families deserve to lead fulfilling lives, so they support the wounded, injured or sick to rehabilitate through the power of sport and adventurous challenge. With your support they can lead a life unconquered, joining a growing community that uses physical endeavour as a pathway to their recovery. Thank you for your raising funds to support wounded, injured, or sick service personnel take on these new challenges!
