Story
In April 2010, a friend of mine Jodie sadly lost her life to Viral Meningitis only 17 years old. She initially had tonsilitis, but showed no signs of improvement. It was later confirmed that she had the Viral form of Meningitis. Unfortunately Jodie was not one of the lucky ones to make a recovery, and her health quickly deteriorated. She lost her fight against the illness. Her parents made the selfless decision to donate Jodies organs, which then went on to save the lives of 4 people. Although no longer with us, Jodie keeps giving, and now a part of her still lives on through the lives of those that she has saved.
Jodies family, along with my friends have been doing all they can to raise money for Meningitis charities. A close friend of mine Boston walked the Great Wall Of China in October 2012 along with Jodie's Dad and Nan. I am so proud of what he achieved. This spured me on to try and make a difference and raise money for The Meninigtis Trust, which is a charity that gives life long support to those that have been affected by Meningitis as well as raising awareness and funding research. We will be walking Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike over 2 days. It is going to be tough, but Jodie was and still is worth the challenge.
It would be greatly appreciated if you would be kind enough to sponsor me on this tough challenge. Every little helps, and even a small donation will make a difference! Thank you for your support xx
