In 2012 on her birthday my Grandma was taken from us suddenly because of this nasty, cruel disease, and each day I struggle to understand, why her? Not a day goes by when I don’t think about her. She was a massive part of my life and my family’s lives, and it has affected us hugely in so many ways and been a real struggle to adapt to doing things without her and not having her around. But i know she’s always looking down on us.

As she was always a very charitable person and always helping others, i thought so as a tribute to her I’m doing Shine. It’s a night walk set up by cancer research to raise money for the charity and the research that they do.

Although I’m doing Shine for cancer research, I’m doing it mostly for my Grandma, she didn’t deserve to be taken away from us like she was or go through the pain she was put through.
