First of all, we'd like to thank you for taking the time to come to our Just Giving page. We have decided to take part in the London to Paris Cycle in September 2017 for MND Scotland.
Living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) is an unimaginable nightmare. For those who know little about MND, it is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting, affecting your speech, swallowing and movement. There is no cure.
Having to watch someone you love go through this, day by day, is the most heart wrenching thing. Claire’s gran and Holly's uncle have sadly lost their battle against MND therefore, we are doing it for them, and everyone else who is affected by this incurable illness.
As well as raising £3000, or more if we can, for MND Scotland (a charity which supports those suffering from the disease, and their families and friends) we want to raise awareness of this horrible disease. Maybe one day a cure will be found.
If you are able to donate anything at all, we would be extremely grateful! There's no doubt in our minds that this will be a huge challenge for us both. Who knew we would be swapping champagne club for cycling club!?
Lastly we'd just like to say a massive thank you to anyone who is able to donate any amount towards this cause!!! You are helping us all fight against this horrible disease!!
