Hi, I’m Holly and welcome to my page. A little bit about me to start off. I started running during lockdown. I have always struggled with running long distances but sticking at it for a few months really helped. I’m running this half as a challenge and I am proud to be able to fundraise for Newport Mind, my local mental health charity, at the same time. This will be my first half marathon, and I hope it goes well!

I’m raising money for Newport Mind so that new projects that could help people in the community can go ahead and so that existing projects can carry on. Communities will always need mental health services to provide local support, and this money will help them to continue this work. 

Even though Newport Mind is a charity, the employees need to make a living, any projects need funding and resources need to be paid for. Furthermore, the ability to extend and improve services allows them to meet the contemporary needs of the community. We’ve all had it drilled into our heads about the mental health crisis. It’s not a problem that can be ignored.    

So overall, please consider donating any amount of money, great or small. I want to raise as much money as possible for Newport Mind and I’d appreciate all the help you could give!
