Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Helen and I met on the first day of secondary school when we were 12, and we became best friends over a shared love of horses.
Helen was always as strong and brave as she was funny and silly, and as bright and colorful as her beautiful red hair. She gained her degree at Kings College, Cambridge, and went on to complete a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology whilst working for the NHS in Cleveland.
Helen loved her husband Nick, her horse Silk, hang-gliders, tandems, walking, skiing, her extended family and all her many, many friends and colleagues.
Helen didn't expect to become ill with severe depression, and when it happened to her, she fought as hard and as long as she could to get better.
Although Helen's background and professional training didn't allow her to successfully treat her own illness, she was part of many other people's recoveries, and gave so much more than she took.
Helen's personality and approach to life lives on in all of us who knew her, and hopefully through rasing money for Mind, some of the work she devoted her professional life to can continue as well.
So this 26.2 mile run is for Helen, for all the people she met and helped, and for those who supported her in return.
So please dig deep and donate now.
