Story
Maggie Oliver was a detective and resigned from Greater Manchester police to expose the now infamous Rochdale Grooming scandal, featured in the BBC drama, ‘Three Girls’. To this day, her relationship with the victims of child grooming continues. Justice for the people of Rochdale is an ongoing battle.
The Maggie Oliver foundation has now been launched with a focus on helping survivors transform pain into power. The Maggie Oliver foundation is not only for people who have been victims of on-street grooming but also for those who have experienced any kind of sexual abuse, including FGM and forced marriage.
Their first pilot centre in Rochdale is small, but they are working tirelessly to raise the funds needed to open more venues in the near future across the UK.
The 3 girls documentary on BBC raised public awareness of what grooming is. I have decided to run a mile every day for each girl who was brave enough to share her story to allow the public's understanding to deepen. Please donate and support the Maggie Oliver foundation to provide survivors of any kind of sexual abuse to have a safe space to be themselves and be heard.
I will run 3 miles every day in June (90 miles total)
