Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My friend Kirsty passed away 6 years ago after suffering from a brain tumour. Kirsty was such a great person with a positive attitude and the ability to always make people laugh. Since then, I have always wanted to raise money to support The Brain Tumour Charity to help others not lose such a great friend/daughter/sister like Kirsty.
Brain tumours are extremely common and nobody knows why they occur. In the UK, as many as 9,000 people a year are diagnosed with a brain tumour; that's 25 people every day.
I have decided to trek The Great Wall of China in October 2015, through which I aim to gain sponsors to help me raise money. I will be walking approximately 7 hours each day for 9 days, which I think will be an extremely fulfilling challenge - especially the 1,000 steps up to the foot of the wall!
I am hoping the money that I raise will help to improve the diagnosis, treatment and understanding of brain tumours and one day beat this devastating disease.
Any donations would be hugely appreciated.
