My name is Holly and I am the wee Chihuahua cross puppy and am 1.5 years old and my big brither, Gizmo is a big 9 year old Yorkshire terrier.

Recently, while sitting snug and cosy in our lovely comfy homes watching all the bad weather outside and the birds and squirrels in the garden battling for food, we started to think of all these poor creatures who are not so fortunate as ourselves. 

And we decided it was time we set ourselves a challange to do something about it!

So we had a big think and decided to come up with doing a sponsored dog walk - after all the idea was just perfect for us! :-)

We decided we would complete a walk from the far west end of Gourock all through the town and into Greenock with the finishing line in the huge Battery Park. It's a distance of 3.6 miles along some pretty lovely riverside with gorgeous views!

As I've already stated I'm just a wee puppy and I have never walked so far in my life and I have to say Gizmo is getting on a bit now so it's quite a distance for him too (not to mention the fact our mum is very unfit and she is going to come along to support us!).

Now, apart from that we don't really get on with other dogs and much prefer to let them know we are the bosses! However, we decided that the more of our furry friends we could persuade to take part the more money we could raise! And so we have managed to influence a few of the dog walkers from mum's work to take part and now there is going to around a dozen of us completeing this walk - it's going to be a challenge ( & chaos!!!)!

The SSPCA is a marvellous charity, caring for all sorts of animals. They rescue and rehome thousands of abused, abandoned and injured animals every year and they take people responsible to court. They also try to prevent cruelty through a free education programme.

We really want to raise as much money for this worthy cause as we can and so we would really value your support.
