Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After doing some work with Mental Health U.K and after speaking amongst friends, family, colleagues and thinking about what I've read, seen and heard on the media as well as in day to day life, there is still a considerable way to go in terms of supporting people with mental illnesses. We all have mental health, and just like physical health sometimes people can be unwell, with the need for extra support, medication, coping strategies and safe spaces to speak about the way they are feeling and what they are going through, either with professionals, with somebody close or both.
A statistic we hear all of the time now: 1 in 4 people suffer with a mental health issue.
The statistics really are absolutely shocking. 84 men a week take their own lives.
Recent conversations I've had got me thinking...
What it means to be a man:
Too few people are talking about it - it needs everybody's support to change this. Check out project 84:

I know raising money and doing this is only one tiny step to helping with this national crisis, but hopefully my contribution can help someone affected and hopefully with many more people speaking out and getting involved with these important causes we can start to make a positive difference together.
