Story
Thank you for looking at my page! I, with the help of a few excellent friends, am raising money for Macmillan.
My Dad has cancer, and the support Macmillan have given him and my family has been absolutely invaluable. The specialist nurse at the hospital has helped us with problems with prescriptions and symptoms, the hospice nurses have provided a huge amount of equipment for us to use, they've helped us apply for the benefits we should be getting, they've given us special cutlery and plates and cups so Dad can stay fairly independent, they've organised carers, they've provided emotional support for everyone in the family, they've given us information on how to help Dad, and what to expect in the coming months... They also provided excellent support for Bex's father in law when he had bowel and liver cancer, and helped him right the way through his recovery. They've done so much for us, and they've done it all for free. They are incredible, and I don't know where we'd be without them.
I think our fundraising plans are going to grow, but at the moment I'm shaving my head and Bex is also going to shave her head. The when and where is still being decided but it's going to happen soon! There are also other plans being discussed, such as giving massages. If you want to see me do something stupid for money, let me know, I'm very happy to get messy/ be embarrassed/ mildly injure myself if it raises money for this excellent charity.
