Story
Mental health has never been more important. The additional challenges faced by us all over the past year has impacted many across the UK and around the world.
Some facts:
- 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem each year in England
- Across someone's lifetime 1 in 5 experience suicidal thoughts.
Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Mind won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.
Tim and I want to help support Mind to reach as many people that need support as they can. We want to help them promote an understanding of mental health and how every mind matters.
We also want everyone to know that it is OK to not be OK. It isn't wrong to reach out for support when you need it. I personally have done this with Tim and also with professional help when I experienced mental health problems and I am so grateful that I was able to talk to others and get the help I needed.
We hope to raise £1 for every mile we will cover over the month of April. We will be walking, running and cycling to complete the distance from John o' Groats to Land's End as the crow flies. That is 603 miles over 30 days, or an average of just over 10 miles each per day!
Please help us to raise awareness of mental health and support us on our virtual journey across the United Kingdom.
Thank-you,
Claire & Tim
