Story
What is the Scumrun?
The Scumrun is a Rally Event involving us travelling across Europe over five days full of fun & mayhem, all in the name of Charity.
On the 17th of May, we will head down to Dover & board a ferry and from then your guess is as good as ours! As we travel across Europe, we will need to complete objectives set for us and reach various checkpoints, carrying out embarrassing tasks in the process.
We’ll be raising money up to and during the event, with Sponsorship & our change bucket that we can take to the Continent! All proceeds will be going directly to the charity, the fuel is on us!
The ‘TAXY’ Lives!
Yes, the ‘TAXY’ survived! Despite breaking down in the South of France beyond repair, we’ve managed to recover it and bring it back for this year’s event!
Travelling towards Andorra, the ‘TAXY’ unfortunately broke down last year. By catching a lift with some Scumrun allies, we managed to cram all our belongings and ourselves into their car until we made our way to the campsite.
We all agreed that we needed to carry on, we hadn’t got this far to just give up! This led us to buying possibly the worst car possible, but at that point, it had four wheels and an engine so it was better than walking! The Citröen (death trap) Berlingo managed to get us all the way to Barcelona and home!
After trying to convert it into a soft-top (and failing miserably), the only option was to get the ‘TAXY’ back so here we are!
Action Medical Research for Children: Why Donate
Although this may look like one big jolly and as fun as this trip can be, the reason for it is much more serious. We are raising money for yet another well deserving children’s charity. Action Medical Research for Children is a charity aimed on funding medical research to beat diseases that devastate the lives of so many children.
In the UK today, there are hundreds of thousands of sick & disabled children who need help. Action Medical Research for Children has played a significant role in supporting major medical breakthroughs over the last 65 years, from improving the lives of children with Sickle Cell disease to protecting Children from meningitis since 1992 to developing artificial bone that grows! This charity has done so much good but needs our donations to do so much more.
As we’ve said, all donations will go directly to the charity.
This isn’t a holiday, it’s a fundraiser.
