Hi I'm Alex. I'm 12 years old and I'm from Barry, in South Wales.

I was born with a lot of medical conditions including Down's syndrome and  leukaemia,.

When I was young the doctors also found that I had a hole in my heart and I had to have an operation to fix it. 

Although the doctors thought that my leukaemia had gone it came back again and I became very poorly. I was put on life support and my brother Ryan and sister Bethan, were told that I may not live. 

Luckily, I got better but I still have to go to the hospital a lot for treatment.

To give me a break from all the visits to the doctors my mum applied for a place on Caudwell Children's annual Destination Dreams holiday to Disney World, in Florida.

Caudwell Children is a national charity that gives support to disabled children and their families.

They created Destination Dreams in 2007, to give 25 very poorly children and young people the chance to have a dream
holiday to Disney World.

My mum was really happy when she found out that I had been picked for the holiday this December. 

But now she wants to help raise money to cover the cost of the trip because it costs the charity a lot of money.

They take lots of doctors and nurses to Florida, to look after all the children, and they also have over 40 volunteers to help the families get around the theme parks.

My mum says that because of this the charity has to pay £12,000 to take each family on the holiday.

I really want to go on the holiday because it would be great to spend more time together as a family. When I'm in hospital my brother and sister, have to go and stay with other family members. 

I also want to raise the money for all the other girls and boys who are going on the holiday because I want to make new friends, and without them I couldn't do that.

If I can pay for everyone we'd all have such a good time together. 

I hope the public support our fundraising campaign and help me get to Florida.
