I was due to run the London Marathon in the year that Covid arrived. I managed to run the Bath Half marathon that year, a few days before lockdown was announced. It was the last running race to go ahead that year. After training all winter, I was proud that I managed to run the Bath Half in a sub 2 hr time which was the quickest I had ran that distance for a while!. Covid meant that the London Marathon was postponed and it eventually went ahead in October 2020 as a virtual marathon, which I ran but it wasn’t the same as running in the race, in the streets of London with the amazing London Marathon crowds cheering you.
Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to me and to United Response, and every penny will contribute massively to the excellent work they do. I will keep you posted on how I get on when the time comes….
