Angkor Wat Half-Marathon · 6 December 2015
This weekend, the two of us are packing our running shoes and heading to Cambodia for the Angkor Wat Half-Marathon. The race will take us through 21km in 32 degree heat! Over the past several months, we've trained night and day - up hills and round circuits - to complete the 21km challenge ahead.
We are now asking that in the last week, alongside getting ready for your Christmas parties and holidays, you help us support the UNHCR Appeal for the Refugee Crisis in Europe - our charity cause of choice for the Half-Marathon.
UNHCR’s work in Syria
The crisis in Syria has displaced more than four million refugees. As refugee families continue to flee war and persecution at staggering rates, a bitter winter is fast approaching. For many Syrian families this will be the 5th winter bringing further misery for families already struggling to survive in incredibly harsh conditions, with many lacking basic winter household items. UNHCR is doing great work on the ground, protecting refugees and providing lifesaving assistance such as shelter, food, water and medical care to refugees arriving in Europe. Your support means a lot to us and is vital in helping UNHCR to save lives and protect families who have been forced to flee their homes.
