Story
PSC-Lincoln is running "Palestine Awareness Week" in aid of raising money for MAP.
As we sit comfortably in our warm homes this winter there are thousands of Palestinian refugees who have fled the violence in Syria arriving in Lebanon. Further south, the population of Gaza is in its seventh year inside the blockade.
On top of that the lacking heath care facilities and destroyed hospitals makes this 2015 winter a life threatening one.
Caught in the middle of these catastrophes are children: homeless, stateless, facing a hard winter and a bleak future. Thanks to you, MAP has been able to reach out and support thousands of these children over the last year.
But we need you to help the children of Palestine this winter. You could be the reason a child lives another day.
With whole neighbourhoods destroyed and nowhere else to go, many in Gaza are returning to what is left of their homes and trying to piece their lives back together again. Huddled in the ruins of their homes, most have no electricity or running water. They have lost so much. How will they cope this winter? This is the question I asked myself.
Medical Aid for Palestinians will have a vital role to play in protecting the families of Gaza as they struggle to get through the coming winter. We will need everyone’s help to provide basic needs at this critical time: things like blankets, food packages, mattresses and hygiene kits.
We have a range of activities running this week. Click below to see what events we have planned to join.
