Story
Richard House Children's Hospice serves the heart of east London. We deliver specialist care for babies, children and young adults, while supporting their families through counselling, therapy, bereavement support and more.
After recently spending a day at Richard House, helping to clear the gardens with the Volunteer gardener - we were inspired to do something that really would make a difference. We spoke to the charity about their ideas for the garden and they told us that they really wanted to improve their woodland area & create a beach for the children.. We all got together and brainstormed ways that we could help raise money in order to give the children the beach that they desired - and came up with a sponsored hike of the Three Peaks!
We aim to raise enough money to re paint the beach hut in the gardens, as well as renovate the beach area - adding new sand, toys such as buckets and spades and a bigger boat so that all the children can go in together! We strive to make this area somewhere that both the children and their parents can enjoy when they visit the house. As well as this, we would like to buy the children some wooden animals to go into the woodland area of the grounds, in order to enhance this area further.
Thank you for the donations, we look forward to making a difference at Richard House!
