Story
I did the triathlon in 1:32:29 and was euphoric all Sunday!
Aching a bit now, but wanted to thank my mates from work & home who did the triathlon to keep me company and a special thanks to all who have donated. The donation page will stay open for a while longer, so if you know of anyone who might like to donate, please forward the link.
Remember the Neuroblastoma Society does a fantastic job supporting children and families affected by this aggressive childhood cancer.
After years of osteoarthritis I got both hips resurfaced in 2009 (September 11th & December 18th). The road to recovery looked a bit boring, so I set myself the challenge of completing a sprint triathlon and I've entered the Leeds Xpress Triathlon on 1st August (http://www.xtramileevents.com/triathlon-events/Leeds-Xpress-Triathlon/12.html) - what better way to celebrate Yorkshire Day!
Then I heard about the fantastic work the Neuroblastoma Society (www.nsoc.co.uk) does and decided that even better than celebrating Yorkshire Day by testing my new hip surfaces to the limit, would be helping support the children and families affected by neuroblastoma too.
You can follow my training progress on the Leeds Bradford Triathlon Club (LBT) forum (www.lbt.org.uk/cms/Forum/tabid/62/forumid/3/threadid/17/scope/posts/Default.aspx), and even come along and cheer me on the day!
Please give and support the Neuroblastoma Society.
