Story

Hillary & Topsy are doing this Challenge to support the Air Ambulance who came to Hillary's Rescue 5 years come August after he was knocked down by cattle on the main road at Harlow Hill. They plan to do this in 2 stages. Skiddaw and Hellvelyn in one day and Scafell on another.

This Challenge is something Hillary did when he was 16/17 years old. Since his accident he has made a fantastic recovery and to show how well he has done he wants to do the 3 peaks in Cumbria once again. Topsy (Helen Dickson) has kindly agreed to do this Challenge with Hillary and to try and keep him on the right path(s).

10th June 2012 - Hillary tackled Scafell Pike successfully in 7.5 hours from Seatoller and found it quite challenging hence the reason for a change of plan to do it over two days.

Saturday 23rd June - Skiddaw and Helvelyn, both achieved. After an early start from home, a merry band of 7 set off just after 8.00am in the rain and mist and succeeded in climbing Skiddaw in 2 hours 45. Thanks to Mandy T, Martin & Liz Harrison, Paul Lewis and Bill Taylor for supporting Topsy and Hillary. Everyone got a good soaking and if they had any, the cobwebs blown out of them. It was very windy up on the tops.

Topsy, Bill and Hillary next set off up Helvelyn. This again was very wet and windy but with the help of Bill's Lab they arrived back at the Kings Head Pub in 3 hours 30 minutes.
