Fundraising for Brigg & District LIVES
04.04.11 It is with regret that i have had to pull out of the London Marathon 2011, i have defered my place, so as soon as I get over the leg injury I will begin training again for The London Marathon 2012. Thank you so much for your support to date.
10.03.11 Out for a vvvv hard hill session tonight with the club, coupled with this gale force wind its going to be hellish!! Just incase you were in any doubt of me finishing the marathon, I have attached a new picture!! Here I am, at the London Marathon last year, just after receiving my finishers medal - V proud moment (even if its not the best photo!)
25.02.11 Just a quick progress update, training is going well. A four mile race the other day with the running club and some 10 milers, I am well on my way with training! woo hoo! Just need to ask you armchair supporters to dig deep!
I can't quite believe that I am here again writing a sponsorship page for the London Marathon 2011! After the agony of last year - the training, the marathon itself and the 6 weeks recovery. I am here again and actually quite excited about the prospect of crossing the famous finish line again.
Training has already started - 3 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday at Scunthorpe Running Club and then a long run at the weekend. I am sure when my running buddy Postie Sue and Malcolm come back from Goa we will be 'beefing up' the training to more than 3 times a week!! The target of a sub 5 hours is set. I am so nervous/excited just thinking about the whole thing!
All this hard work is in aid of LIVES - Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service. A totally voluntary service which responds to 999 calls in Lincolnshire, they arrive as a First Responder before the ambulance, to deliver vital 'first aid'.
Brigg & District LIVES, is specifically where any sponsorship money is going to go, they are currently raising money for a portable defibrillator which costs £1550.00, hence my target. If you would like to find out more out LIVES please visit:

The picture attached is Paula Radcliffe and me before the marathon last year, she is such an inspiration!! And such a lovely lady when I was quite starstruck.
