Story
Maisie loves her hair and when she heard that some illnesses can mean children may lose their hair she was very sad and worried. She asked if she could give her hair to help these children. When we looked into it, it turned out that she needed to donate a minimum length of 30cm and to leave her own hair at shoulder length she would need to grow her hair at least another 12 cm. As curls grow around and around rather than straight down, this has taken her around 18 months!
Maisie would like to cut her hair to shoulder length and donate the hair to The Little Princess Trust. She also wanted to ask people to sponsor her so she could raise some money to donate as well. She has only ever had her hair trimmed before and those who know Maisie, know how very long her curls are now, so this is quite a big deal! We are very proud of her for choosing to do this to help others.
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.
