Story
The Highland Rockets are aiming to raise £2500, which covers the costs of running the Maggie's Highland Centre for just one day.
Maggie's really is an amazing place, with advice, support, courses and always always cake! Sadly, we have all been touched by Cancer in our lives. When we talked about running the Great North Run in it's 40th year, we knew we needed to use this opportunity to try and help as much as we could.
Maggie’s Highlands provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer, their family and friends. They provide this for anyone affected by cancer in the Highlands, Islands and Moray and receive no government or NHS funding.
Steph and Lynne recently volunteered at the Run The Runway Event at Inverness Airport. The courage, determination and bravery of all who participated was really quite humbling. Ladies still in treatment, who absolutely rocked and smashed the 5k! Just an amazing night! True inspirations that we will carry with us as we take on the World's Biggest Half Marathon! xx
Thank you so much for supporting us. It really is much appreciated.
We will post regular training updates and stories from our journey to Tyneside on 13th September 2020.
We hear that Mo Farah is seriously worried about his competition this year! ;0)
