Who I Am
Hello! I'm Calea, a movement and challenge enthusiast. I am most alive when I am testing the boundaries of my own potential and I love using my body as an instrument to serve local charities and our community at large. #winwin
What I'm doing
The Highland Cross is a 50-mile duathlon that consists of 20 miles by foot and then 30 miles by bike. Traversing the stunning Scottish Highlands coast to coast, West to East from Kintail through Glen Affric and Strathglass to Beauly.
The foot race is on rocky trails through the glens and the bike section starts at the Glen Affric Car Park and takes the road to Beauly. It's a challenge not to be taken lightly!
I'm a last minute addition to a team that suffered from injury. So I'm working hard to get my mind and body ready which is why I'm asking for your donations to help fuel my determination to keep going. Most my training will be done while pushing a buggy, or on the trainer when the kids are sleeping 😉.
Who Does The Highland Cross Help
By donating here you'll be helping disadvantaged people across the Highlands get better access to the services they need. The charity has done mind blowing work raising a total of £5.3 million across 37 years. THIS YEAR they are supporting 4 charities that perform so much good in our local area:
- The Glen Urquhart Project
- Reach4Reality
- The Oxygen Works
- CCAST Highland
These charities can't run smoothly without the support of the community so I am putting my best foot forward over and over to give a helping hand (and foot!) so they can continue doing what they do best, support those in need in our beloved Highlands.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. If you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
I'd love your support in any way or amount you can. Every penny counts! And I will be posting updates and pictures here of the training I get up to solo, and with the kids alongside me.
Thank you so much for your support!
