Story
Working together and supporting each other is important and this charity run is just one way we can show this. Staff, students and governors are all behind us in helping to raise £1000.00 for Compton Hospice. For years I have always wanted to take part in a charity event like this and do something worthwhile. Sadly, not too long ago, we lost an amazing teacher to cancer and Compton Hospice provided her and her family with the care, love and support when they needed it most. I also lost a friend recently to cancer and again Compton Hospice was there for him and the whole family when they needed the support. These upsetting events helped me to focus on what was important and crucially my own health. So, in November 2016, I joined a gym with the aim of getting healthier and fitter. Several months later, and a lot of hard work and determination, I have managed to do just that also losing 7 stones in the process. I was now ready to take on this charity challenge. However, it didn't just stop there; sharing the idea of taking part in the Carver Wolverhampton Marathon 2017 also inspired many of my work colleagues to take part in the charity run. I'm so proud of working in such a caring school where everyone works so hard in helping to change the lives of so many people. We have over 20 runners taking part from the school and we will all be at the 10K starting line on the 3rd of September, which starts at 9.40. It would be great to see you there holding up banners to support us all. Go team High Arcal.
Thank you all so much. Mr Mahey
