Virtual Reindeer Run 2020

Story

We’re taking part in the Virtual Reindeer Run 2020!

My eldest sister, Hilary, is a fundraiser for RNLI Minehead. We know, therefore, what a difficult year it has been for fundraising. Yet we also know that the need for the incredible, lifesaving work the RNLI do has not lessened.

Living in a coastal area, we are acutely aware of how easily people can find themselves in trouble in the sea or on the cliffs and dunes of our coastline. The RNLI provides an amazing emergency and rescue service and we want to do anything we can to ensure that they can continue to assist people who are in peril.

Every year, approaching Christmas, our family get together for a Christmas gathering. This year, because of Covid, we can’t do this. Instead we have decided to form a team for the RNLI virtual Reindeer Run - we can all connect through a shared participation in both the running event and raising money for such a great cause.

The Hewlett-Robbins Reindeer Runners plan to do a 10km coastal run on Saturday 12th December. Please, if you feel able, sponsor us - every donation, however small, will help!

Thank you!

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
