Story
I’ve entered the Atlantic Coast Challenge (Padstow to Lands End). It’s 78.6 miles (3 marathons) over 3 days of walking (certainly), running (hopefully) or crawling (likely). I’ll be pitting what little mental and physical prowess I have against some of the wildest coastline in Britain… this is possibly the stupidest thing I’ve attempted but I’m committed now so would like to make it worthwhile by raising a few quid for Parkinson’s UK.
Please dig deep and support this challenge in aid of this very special charity. My dad sadly passed away in July this year and I dedicate all my efforts to him – he endured 25 years of serious illness that started with Parkinson’s, then about five years ago dementia and then finally cancer. He was so brave in the face of extraordinary pain and some truly punishing treatment and remained proud and dignified over the years, despite having all his strength and independence taken away from him. Through all of this, my mum has cared for him every step of the way and kept the family strong and together.
I only have a week to go before the start so I hope that you can support my efforts and help me raise as much as possible for this fabulous charity.
Thank you so much for your wonderful support.
