The Bear is a small church with a big vision – to be a place of homecoming for the people of Deptford.  This year we are celebrating 175 years since we first opened as The Deptford Ragged School, and we're aiming to raise money for an ambitious £8 million building project. 

Herne Bay was a favourite destination for day trips for the children from the Deptford Ragged School so we've decided to walk the route home to remember, to celebrate and to raise money.
