Story
Things I've done to raise money for the British Hen Welfare Trust so far:
Three Peaks Challenge - The challenge is to climb and travel between the three highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis, 1344m), England (Scafell Pike, 978m) and Wales (Snowdon, 1085m). In July 2010, I managed to complete the challenge in 22 hours and 19 minutes.
Abseil - I detest heights so abseiling 420ft down the world's tallest permanent abseil tower on a particularly windy day was a challenge. But I did it in around 10 minutes in August 2013.
Book - I wrote a book full of heartwarming true stories all about the pleasures and calamities of owning ex-battery hens. It's called Tales from the Coop and is available from Amazon
One Little Egg Swap - The aim is simple: to swap one little egg from an ex-battery hen for something more valuable. Then to keep on trading for bigger and better things until the final item can be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the British Hen Welfare Trust. Visit www.onelittleegg.co.uk see the current item, offer a swap or just to find out more.
No doubt I will be doing more to raise money for BHWT soon but in the meantime, please please consider making a donation above. Just £3 can mean the difference between life and death to a battery hen. The British Hen Welfare Trust has rehomed over 400,000 hens so far. Please donate and make that number go up.
Thank you!
