Story
Thank you for visiting the Henry Tudor Ride's fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor the ride online.
In July 2008 Major General Evelyn Webb-Carter and the historian Professor Richard Holmes led a horse ride across England and Wales to raise donations for the ABF. They rode in period costume to retrace the historic route taken by Henry Tudor in 1485, in his successful attempt to wrest the crown from the "usurper" King Richard III.
Events were planned all along the route, which took the team via Cardigan, Shrewsbury and Cannock Chase. To celebrate their arrival in Bosworth Field, Professor Richard Holmes gave a talk over a grand dinner.
All donations will go towards the Army Benevolent Fund's Current Operations Fund, supporting soldiers injured or families of those killed during Service in current operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor the ride: Army Benevolent Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Well, they are now all back having completed the great ride and what fun it was. They spread the word and raised a lot of money. It is still too early to see the full fruits of their labours, but it cant be far from £50,000.
If you want to see how they got on visit Evelyn's blog on www.thehenrytudorride.blogspot.com
But we still need more for this cause. So please sponsor the Henry Tudor Ride now!
Many thanks for your support.
