Inspired by the tireless and heroic efforts of my own father, who works at Bradford Royal Infirmaryin West Yorkshire, and others on the nhs.ukfrontline, I decided to run a Marathon (42.195km or 26 miles 385 yards) in my backyard in Addingham, West Yorkshire, over the duration of a week, from Sunday 12th April 2020 to Sunday 19th April, from Easter Sunday to Easter Sunday, in aid of @bradford hospitals charity, supporting particularly Bradford Teaching Hospital. One lap of my garden is 0.05km, the whole Marathon took 844 laps to complete in under 7 hours.

By donating to this cause, you will be helping raise money going towards relief for the incredible NHS staff and volunteers working flat-out and dutifully at this testing time to protect the public health, not for pay-rises, tax breaks or bonuses, but because as doctors it is their calling in life to heal the sick and alleviate suffering. 

Your donation will provide vital support to staff during this busy time.

For example by paying for care packages, assistance with travel and accommodation where needed, as well as helping to fund other health and well-being initiatives to boost staff morale.

£10 could pay for a comfort pack for staff who have to stay overnight at short notice

£50 could stock up a snack area for staff working long hours

£80 could pay for a hotel room for staff who need to stay close by or isolate from their families to keep working

£200 could pay for an electronic device for patients supporting education of children and providing vital connections to loved ones

£300 could buy a hospital grade microwave so staff can heat up meals in their staff areas

£1,000 could pay for a hydration station to remain fully stocked with drinks and snacks for staff for a month
