Fundraising for Football Beyond Borders
Story
Football Beyond Borders is a fantastic charity very close to my heart. I volunteer every week and see how vital their work is to the young disadvantaged people within our communities.
What better way to support their work than running your FIRST half marathon so please help me to support their FBB by supporting my adventure!
The cost of one FBB participant attending our programme every week is £400 a year. Given the current funding constraints in education, schools can only pay for just over half of the participants to attend. Every £200 raised enables one young person from a disadvantaged background in London to take part in our programme. In 2016/17, FBB school groups saw 31% fewer incidents of bad behaviour, a 48% improvement in Teacher Assessed Attitude to Learning and an average attendance rate of 95.4%. That equates to an FBB participant attending school a week more than their peers across the academic year.
FBB wants to mobilise supporters and football fans from across London to come together and use the power of sport to transform young people’s lives!
