Story
I want to raise as much as I can for Prostate Cancer UK. As a small encouragment I will hold a raffle and everyone who donates has the chance of winning a fine dinner at Racine for two with Champagne and some rather nice wine too.
My uncle Henry died from prostate cancer in 2011 and my 82 year old father will die with it rather than from it as he has had great treatment since his first diagnosis. My brother and I could well be diagnosed later in life. Over the next couple of months I am going to auction a few goodies too and will let you know when this is happening.
I have seen at first hand how good the care can be and how medical advances mean that more and more men will die with prostate cancer and not from it. Research has to continue to aid early diagnosis and proper treatment that doesn’t affect personal quality of life as well, which it can do at the moment. When a couple have to learn to cope and accept a cancer diagnosis it can add emotional distress that the intimate side of a relationship is taken away be the side effects of the treatment.
