Story
I had the pleasure of visiting the Dream Big Ghana Foundation in 2013. They are a small charity that run a variety of programmes to support community development to reduce poverty in the Volta region of Ghana. Programmes include building composting toilets in rural communities where there is minimal access to sanitation, running a learning centre for children's after school clubs and adult skill development, supporting women's hygiene and reforestation.
Most recently, in 2018 they started a renewable energy education programme. This year will see 120 students trained in Solar, Biomass from coconut husks and Energy Efficiency over 6 weeks. I am fundraising to help contribute to the wage of the Head of Operations, a local experienced electrician within renewable energy companies called Yeboah Samuel.
I was originally going to walk along the Thames from Hampton Court to Canary Wharf (about 27 miles), but now that I've moved to Exeter I'm going to figure something else out. Route and date to do it will be confirmed in due course but be comfortable in the knowledge that I will make it long enough that it is hard. Although I will not be running a marathon barefoot like my friend Bobby, hopefully this will be enough to raise a little bit of money for a good cause. This programme will have a direct effect on the sustainable development and empowerment of these communities and so I would appreciate any support you can offer.

Thank you!
