This year I am running the London marathon, and in the process fundraising for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure – all donations made will go towards the aim of finding a life-changing treatment to the disease by 2025.

Like many others I have seen first hand the heart ache that this disease causes to the sufferer's loved ones. In the UK today it is estimated there are over 850,000 with dementia, representing 1 in every 14 of the population aged 65 years and over.
