Story
Just before Christmas we lost a very dear friend; Dan, Hen, Henhen, who took his own life. He leaves behind him a great legacy in his two (and soon to be three) children and leaves behind his beautiful wife Amy and his family and friends. Dan's loss is felt so keenly by so many. His humour, his hair, his lateness, his mountain biking injuries (which is where this picture came in) and the many, many stories we all have will always be remembered. Gone but never forgotten my friend.
As close as we are to someone, we do not always fully understand what is going on in someone's mind. We must reach out when we need support, to friends, family or to fantastic charities like MIND. We need to look out for one another as well as for ourselves. Young men in particular need this support. I pledge to do something, even if just a walk, everyday in January. Every step will be for Dan.
This January, the RED community will be challenging themselves to get active every day. Whether running, swimming, cycling or choosing a favourite fitness activity, REDers will be going the extra mile to support themselves and others. Their fitness and fundraising efforts combined with your generosity will help continue Minds life-changing work, ensuring no-one has to face a mental health problem alone. Thank you.
