Story
Hendstock is a festival in memory of our friend Ian Hendry who died suddenly after contracting meningitis. Ian was a great friend, our best man when we got married and Godfather to our son
After he died, we decided to hold an annual party for him on the nearest Saturday to his birthday.
The deal is this.
We cut the grass, shove some lights and bunting up and set up the PA, hire some toilets. People turn up with a picnic and an alarming amount of alcohol.
People then get up on stage and sing, play or whatever. It’s a bit like a poundshop cross between Glastonbury, the last night of the proms and karaoke night at a holiday camp (I’m not selling this very well am I?).
We’ve currently got 17 acts ranging from a very good choir to Linton's premier dad band; more acts are being confirmed daily.
Last year we had 400 people and raised over £3,000 for Meningitis Now (a uk charity). This year we'd like to raise £2,000 if possible.
So if you knew Ian or you know us we'd love to see you and if you can't make it then any donations would really help.
This is the sort of thing that happens..
