Isobel and Jacob is raising money for Overgate Hospice
Story
Overgate Hospice, Happy Days and FC Halifax Town have come together to launch the Big Ride Home. A cycle ride like no other that will raise money for all 3 charities.
Happy Days operate a food bank in Calderdale providing over 220 families with emergency food parcels each week, whilst also providing emergency winter shelter to the homeless and most vulnerable in Calderdale. They also provide safe accommodation for the homeless and at risk with volunteering in a community setting that incorporates on-going mentoring and support to bring about sustainable change in people’s lives.
Cycling a total of 270 miles through the Yorkshire Dales and Coastal Regions, the ride comprises of three challenging, but rewarding days in the saddle, taking in stunning rural landscapes.
Day 1 begins in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. The route will set off at 7.00am from Mamil Cafe Bar, Brighouse and will wind up through the dales to Teesside and ends in Middlesbrough.
Day 2 begins in Middlesbrough and winds down through the North York Moors, across the Yorkshire Wolds and ends in Hull.
Day 3 is the homeward bound stretch taking us back into West Yorkshire finishing at Mamil Cafe Bar in Brighouse.
